GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

(ALL LOCATIONS)

Candidates must be 21 years of age or older and demonstrate the maturity, responsibility, and professionalism required to operate within a high-level creative environment.

A valid passport is required, with the ability and availability to travel internationally for assignments, often on short notice. Candidates should be comfortable working across different cultures, time zones, and production conditions.

A valid driver’s license is required, and candidates must be confident driving automatic transmission vehicles, including rental vans or production vehicles when necessary.

Candidates must be willing to sign and strictly adhere to a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA). Confidentiality is essential. Assistants are trusted with sensitive creative concepts, client identities, private locations, and unreleased imagery.

Punctuality is non-negotiable. Candidates must be highly reliable, focused, and professional, arriving early, prepared, and mentally present. The assistant is expected to anticipate needs rather than wait for instruction.

Physical capability is required. Candidates must be able to lift, carry, organize, and manage photography equipment, including cases, lighting units, stands, modifiers, sandbags, and related production gear, often for extended periods.

Assistants must be comfortable working in both studio and on-location environments, including outdoor, architectural, remote, or unconventional spaces. Adaptability to changing conditions—weather, light, timelines, and creative direction—is essential.

A working knowledge of lighting equipment and photography workflows is expected. This includes strobes, continuous lighting, modifiers, grip equipment, tethering systems, and basic set etiquette. Candidates who are not yet proficient must demonstrate the ability to learn quickly, retain information, and apply instruction without repeated guidance.

Above all, candidates must understand the importance of discretion, respect, and energetic awareness on set. This role requires emotional intelligence—knowing when to speak, when to observe, and how to move seamlessly within a team. Assistants are expected to protect the creative space, maintain calm under pressure, and contribute to an environment that supports excellence, focus, and trust.

CONTENT CREATION REQUIREMENT

Behind-the-Scenes (BTS) content creation is a core responsibility across all assistant roles at SHAMAYIM Studios. This content is essential to documenting the creative process and supporting the studio’s brand narrative and digital presence.

Assistants are expected to:

  • Professionally document SHAMAYIM in action during productions with a high level of discretion, awareness, and visual sensitivity

  • Capture high-quality behind-the-scenes stills and video using DSLR, mirrorless, or mobile devices as appropriate to the environment

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of composition, framing, movement, and available light for both photography and video

  • Utilize editing applications or platforms to produce polished BTS assets when quick turnaround is required

  • Organize, label, and deliver all BTS content post-shoot in a clear, efficient, and professional manner

Behind-the-scenes content produced by assistants directly supports SHAMAYIM Studios’ branding, storytelling, and social media presence. The ability to create this content at a professional standard is not optional—it is a required component of the role.
