Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
March 8 – March 14, 2027
Overview
SHAMAYIM visits Rio de Janeiro in 2027 with an emphasis on movement, sensuality, and environmental immersion. Positioned at the conclusion of Brazil’s summer season, this timing provides optimal shooting conditions—long days, consistent sunlight, and a vibrant yet controlled atmosphere following the peak Carnival period.
Rio offers a rare convergence of coastline, mountains, and urban life, allowing for a dynamic range of editorial outputs within a single destination.
Client Production Availability
During the Rio expedition, SHAMAYIM is available for commissioned projects including fashion campaigns, lookbooks, and fashion films. Clients may utilize the city’s diverse environments and the assembled creative team to produce high-level commercial work aligned with the expedition schedule.
Photography Masterclass
The Rio masterclass is centered on capturing movement, emotion, and environmental interaction. SHAMAYIM will guide participants through the principles of directing models in natural light, working with unpredictable elements such as wind and water, and translating energy into imagery.
Key areas of focus include:
Directing models for fluid, organic movement
Understanding and controlling natural light in high-contrast environments
Building narrative through body language and pacing
Creating emotionally charged imagery that feels instinctive rather than staged
Developing a signature visual language rooted in authenticity and sensuality
This session is designed to elevate photographers beyond technical execution and into intuitive image-making.
Model Portfolio Development Day
The Rio portfolio development session is focused on building images that highlight versatility, confidence, and physical expression. Models will be guided through multiple looks and environments, capturing a range of marketable images from swim and body-focused editorials to elevated fashion portraits.
Each model will receive:
Directed posing and movement coaching
Multiple styled looks tailored to their market
A combination of natural light and stylized editorial images
Guidance on selecting images that align with agency standards
The objective is to produce a portfolio that feels both natural and elevated, positioning the model for both commercial and editorial opportunities.

This body of work explores the relationship between the human form and the elements—sunlight, water, wind, and terrain. The visual narrative is fluid and expressive, prioritizing natural movement, skin, and energy.
Editorial Production Environments
Ipanema Beach and Arpoador
Used for golden hour and sunset productions, this setting emphasizes natural light, body movement, and minimal styling. The focus is on capturing instinctive, emotionally resonant imagery.
Santa Teresa
A historic district defined by textured architecture, layered color, and narrow streets. This environment supports a contrast between refined fashion and raw, lived-in surroundings.
Sugarloaf Mountain
A high-elevation location offering panoramic views of the city and coastline. This setting introduces scale and drama, ideal for strong silhouettes and cinematic compositions.
Copacabana (Night Production)
An evening shoot designed around artificial lighting, flash techniques, and urban energy. This environment allows for experimentation with motion, reflections, and nightlife aesthetics.
Tijuca Rainforest
A dense natural landscape with waterfalls and organic textures. This setting contrasts couture styling with untouched terrain, creating powerful visual tension.
